care:

Every Whēlan piece is handmade by a dedicated craftsperson using time honored techniques and only the highest quality vegetable tanned leather and materials.  They are intended to last a lifetime provided they receive proper care.

Leather is a natural material that evolves over time, softening, and acquiring a rich patina. It’s important to protect it from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, high heat, high humidity, water, very dry environments, oils, lip stick, and make up.  Depending on the surface finish of the leather, oil based spills and make up may require professional cleaning. Water should be wiped off as soon as possible with a soft, lint-free cloth to avoid stains.  Also avoid abrasive surfaces or any sharp objects that will scratch the surface of the leather.

The hardware is easily maintained by occasionally wiping with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust and finger prints. 

In order to maintain the piece’s original shape, avoid overloading it with large or irregular items and when you’re not using it, close all zippers, replace the interior filler pieces it arrived with and place in it’s original dust cover.

Following these guidelines will protect your investment and ensure many years of service from this piece. 

warranty:

Our products are designed and produced with great care. We use only the best materials and guarantee our hardware, fittings, leathers, and stitching will provide a lifetime of service to the original purchaser. In the unlikely event of a product failure, we will happily replace or repair the affected component free of charge including round trip shipping. Please send us an email at contact@whelancollection.com describing the problem and include the Model and Serial Number (located in the lower left corner inside the back panel of the piece). If possible, please also include a picture of the failed part. We’ll promptly issue a Fedex label and arrange a pick up at your convenience. We require the item to be placed in its original dust bag and linen box and be packaged in a corrugated box with adequate protection for shipment. When the item arrives we’ll schedule the repairs, advise you of the anticipated return date, and provide tracking information upon shipment.

Sometimes bad things happen to good handbags even with the best of care. Not to worry - we can repair or replace any component to make your bag look like new. The process is similar to the warranty resolution; simply send us an email at contact@whelancollection.com describing the problem, and be sure to include the Model and Serial Number (located in the lower left corner inside the back panel of the piece). If possible, please also include a picture of the damaged part. We’ll provide a quote for the repairs and, if approved, we’ll promptly issue a Fedex label and arrange a pickup at your convenience. We require the item to be placed in its original dust bag and packaging and be placed in a corrugated box with adequate protection for shipment. When the item arrives we’ll schedule the repairs, advise you of the anticipated return date, and provide tracking information upon shipment.
