All Whēlan products are crafted exclusively in vegetable tanned leathers sourced from world renowned tanneries in the United States and Europe that are steeped in the traditions of the craft, making them suitable suppliers of leather for our fine handbags and accessories.
Saddle stitching…
Saddle stitching is an ancient method of joining two pieces of leather and has stood the test of time because it produces the strongest seam possible. All Whēlan goods are saddle stitched entirely by hand, producing a reliable and elegant seam. The extra time invested in stitching ensures the piece will last a lifetime.
Our hardware…
All of our hardware is solid brass or stainless steel for maximum durability and is available in a natural finish or plated in gold or nickel.
Edge finishing…
Apart from stitching, edge finishing is the most time consuming element of the process. With the final appearance of the product at stake, a Whēlan product is not a “Whēlan” until the edge finish is flawless.

Luxury is in the details; we make all of our own boxes with the same passion we devote to our handbags using fine Italian linen and book binder’s board to provide an appropriate home for your investment.
